Only 15% of Japanese would be interested in volunteering
According to a study from NHK Broadcasting Culture Research Institute, while Japanese express largely their interest in the Tokyo Olympics, at 78%, they are not that enthusiast about volunteering for the event. Indeed, only 15% of the people surveyed nationwide are willing to participate as a volunteer.
Inside this 15%, young women are the most motivated to participate, as well as people living in Tokyo.
The recruitment of volunteers will start in September, and 110,000 roles are to be filled.
The requirements are straightforward: born prior to 2002, a valid visa and at least 10 days available before, during or after the Olympics. Japanese nationality is not required, so you can apply from all over the world!
