What this job offers:
We’re looking for a native Chinese speaker (simplified Chinese) for a permanent in house translation position. The main genre for translation would be video games.
As most of our clients are overseas, the source language is English, and your main translation pairing would be English to Simplified Chinese. Of course, there will also be times where your duties work with Japanese a Japanese source text, so you’ll be working from Japanese to Simplified Chinese as well.
Examples of work you’d be doing:
1. Creating Chinese versions of English games (consumer games, online games, etc). Translating by understanding the view of the game, the personalities and abilities of the characters.
2. There are times when the scope of your job would also include LQA (linguistic quality assurance). You’ll also be testing games translated into Chinese (for phone apps, Nintendo Switch, etc), checking in-game messages, errors, etc, and performing final checks.
